Addressing the fear

Therapy contract companies want clients to believe the process is impossible, and they want clients to rely on the contract company to feed them the information. This creates a level of uncertainty and fear of taking on those exaggerated responsibilities.

Many of the reason’s owners used contract therapy under PPS/RUG go away under PDPM. Therefore, providers must re-evaluate how best to provide therapy services moving forward.

The “spend more to make more” approach needs to replace with a program that drives outcomes, value, and facility-wide integration
