Addressing the fear 

  • Therapy contract companies want clients to believe the process is impossible, and they want clients to rely on the contract company to feed them the information. This creates a level of uncertainty and fear of taking on those exaggerated responsibilities.  

  • Many of the reason’s owners used contract therapy under PPS/RUG go away under PDPM. Therefore, providers must re-evaluate how best to provide therapy services moving forward.

  • The “spend more to make more” approach needs to replace with a program that drives outcomes, value, and facility-wide integration

  • The reality is, no one knows a client's residents better than their employees and under PDPM that is key
